Trade tariffs: How to deal with uncertainty in legal contracts
If a sudden 25% import tax is imposed, parties will have to bear the cost. That might be impossible. Then, trade eventually comes to a standstill. This can happen soon.
It raises important questions:
- What will the introduction of trade tariffs mean for my existing trade relations?
- Who will bear the unforeseen costs of existing supply obligations?

- How can I manage the risks?

Christian Bartley (Chief Strategy Officer) will give an introduction via a video link from the USA. Markus Sporleder (Rechtsanwalt at Damsté) and Jérôme de Jong van Lier (attorney at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands at Damsté) will discuss contractual uncertainties. They will conclude with tips and tricks to limit the risks.
